Vishvas Nayi studied his BTEC Extended Level 3 in IT (Networking) at Leicester College. He’s now studying Ethical Hacking and Cyber Security BSc at university, and well on his way to achieving his ambition of becoming a Digital Forensics Investigator.
Vishvas spoke to our Alumni Team about his time at Leicester College, university life and his fascination with the world of digital forensics.
“Leicester Collage gave me a great foundation to start off on and to develop once I started university,” said Vishvas. “Even now some of the things I learnt at college come in handy with university coursework.
“Specialising in Networking at Leicester College tied directly into my university course so there were a lot of things I could take forward with me – I’m thankful that I didn’t have to learn everything from the start.”
Vishvas is studying his BSc in Ethical Hacking and Cyber Security at Coventry University.
“I’ve met some wonderful people and been able to develop both personally and professionally at university,” he said. “Recently I have completed a placement year, which was a particular highlight but definitely the greatest challenge so far, because it was the first time I had to deal with all the responsibilities that come with a full time job.”
Vishvas worked as an Assistant Digital Forensics Investigator at LGC Forensics during his placement year. The company is the largest independent provider of forensics services to the police in the UK.
“I would like to get a job in the digital forensics sector once I graduate from university,” he said, “as my time working at LGC Forensics during my placement year gave me the passion for this field.
“Going to university was the best decision I made and I have met some amazing people throughout the years and been able to learn about things I never thought I would, all while having a great time.”
