Gerard studied printing and is now a maths lecturer at Chesterfield College.
He told us, “Leicester College was a good experience for me, that enabled me to learn the fundamentals of the trade I stayed in for 25 years. It was an an exciting experience for me as I was living away from home, so the general well being and culture of the college was quite an important factor for me. I was also treated as a ‘young adult’!
“I enjoyed meeting new people from all aspects of the trade, also listening to the experiences of all the college lecturers from the trade and also from business and sociology lecturers; I had to do General Studies and Industrial Studies back in the day.”
Gerard said his fondest memory of The College was “a science lecturer who was constantly entertaining… Mr Wragg.”
